St Catherines Church - Port Erin

ELS have recently undertaken a full refurbishmment of the church sound system at St Catherines in Port Erin. The original system was well past its sell by date and it was decided to replace the entire 100volt line system including cabling and induction loop system.

We chose TOA speakers to replace the original column speakers and these were driven from a TOA A-1706 Mixer amplifier. At the front end a Denon DNC-100 CD player was added for background music capability. A Sigma PDA induction loop amplifier was provided with a whole new induction loop around the church for those people hard of hearing and using hearing aids.
The original Tandy microphones were replaced with professional high quality Audio-Technica lecturn mics complete with sound isolating base plates mounted onto the wooden lecturns.

Ricky our in house sound engineer was responsible for ensuring an installation that didnt compromise or damage any of the rare woodwork around the pulpit and lecturns.

A Sennheiser Freeport lavelier radio mic system was added for the priest to use whilst conducting sermons etc in the centre of the church. The altar was fitted with an Audio Technica rifle mic to allow good speech reproduction from a distance.
